Zoom Ikebana Dojo is delighted to welcome Mr Katayama again as a special facilitator on 26 January 2021. Mr Katayama is an internationally renowned Ikebana master, based in Fukuoka, Japan. He has taught and performed Ikebana all around the world and is one of the most popular Ikebana masters today.

He is a “RIJI” of the Sogetsu School Teacher’s Association, and secretary-general of the Nishi-nihon Kado Federation, Fukuoka Chapter among many other positions.

In 2017 he was the World Convention Chairperson for Ikebana International 11th World Convention, and in 2019 he presented Welcome Flowers at G20 Fukuoka Welcome Reception.

This is a freestyle arrangement combining a massed form and curved (organic) lines.

Task for 26 Jan: Mr Katayama has conducted many Ikebana demonstrations worldwide. See some of his demos on YouTube and also visit his website to find your favourite work. Create your work inspired by the work you chose.
